Madakaripura Waterfall is a waterfall located in Lumbang District, Probolinggo Regency, East Java Province. At 200 meters high, this waterfall is the highest waterfall on the island of Java and the second highest in Indonesia.
This waterfall is one of the waterfalls in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area, specifically on the slopes of Mount Bromo. Madakaripura Waterfall sits at the end of a narrow, niche-shaped valley surrounded by steep cliffs that cascade down the entire cliff face like rain, three of which cascade down to form another waterfall.
The name of this waterfall, located at an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, comes from the word Madakaripura, a fiefdom belonging to the late Prime Minister Gajah Mada of the Majapahit Empire.
